Intelligent Management of next generation MobIle NEtworks aNd serviCEs

The complexity of the new mobile networks is growing exponentially, so the optimization cost is sometimes the main constraint to deploy the most innovative applications in these new networks. The introduction of AI in telecommunication networks will improve Mobile Network Operations, increase performance, reduce costs and decrease the vulnerability of the network management. The self-healing networks that automatically implement reconfiguration procedures when some low-quality monitoring KPIs are detected are critical to build more reliable applications. Finally, the auto reconfiguration of the networks to adapt the available capacity to the instant applications demand will increase drastically the efficient use of the networks at lower energy costs. In addition, the companies must have the skill and tools to properly exploit the huge amount of information and related vast use cases beyond Big Data and Data Lakes by means of applying analytical techniques that help them to bring added value from the business point of view, for which they must work on their data governance policies. Faced with these challenges, the aim of the project is to develop intelligent network management and control functions techniques, such as self-configuration networks, application aware networks, Artificial Intelligence (AI) mechanisms for autonomous and adaptive management of the future mobile networks as well as intelligent business analytics capabilities. For this purpose, we will define specific use cases and scenarios, such as Autonomous Mobile Network Management and Moving Vehicle Scenario; Smart Mobile Network (5G and beyond); Network Management, Alarm and Monitoring based on business analytics in new telco scenarios.

This project, has been funded in Spain by the Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico Industrial E.P.E. (CDTI), in Sweden by Vinnova, in Portugal by Portugal 2020, in Poland by Narodowe Centrum Badań i Rozwoju (National Centre for Research and Development) and in Turkey by Tübitak.

This is also a Eureka Celtic Next project.
